After losing the first Test against Australia, Pakistan is now aiming to make a strong comeback in the second Test which began on December 26, 2016, at the MCG, Richmond, Victoria. As per latest updates, at the end of second-day lunch, Pakistan has scored 255 runs for the loss of five wickets. Earlier, Misbah Ul Haq won the toss for the visitors, and they had no hesitations to bat first.
Pakistan lost their first wicket when the team score was just 18, as Sami Aslam was dismissed in a fast paced delivery from Nathan Lyon.
The 'Men In Green' soon lost three quick wickets, and at one point, they were 125 runs with the loss of four wickets.
From then, Azhar Ali (112) steadied the Pakistani ship, and he built an unbeaten fifth wicket partnership of 107 runs with Asad Shafiq (48).
It was Jackson Bird who led the bowling attack for the Aussies. The young man picked two wickets by conceding just 65 runs in his 23 over spell. Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon picked one wicket each for the hosts.
As both Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq have found the rhythm in the pace friendly Victoria pitch, they will be trying to take the team total above 400 before second-day evening tea.

The surface in Victoria is a paradise for pace bowlers.
The ball will not directly come to the bat, and the swing offered by the pitch will literally pull the batsmen to a state of dilemma. The nature of the pitch makes this competition even, as both these teams are blessed with the presence of some high-quality pace bowlers.
