A recent article published by France Football indicated José Mourinho was the best paid football head coach in the world in 2014 with a total income of 18 million euros. But let's take a look at the track record that led Mourinho to where he is today, a career build on a lot of success and a lot of titles in Portugal, Spain, Italy and England. Many of the biggest European teams would like to have him as their head coach but Abramovich will not let Mourinho leave so easily.
As head coach, Mourinho started in Benfica and then moved to União de Leiria, but glory came when he assumed the leadership of the F.C.
Porto team between 2002 and 2004. He won one Champions League, one UEFA Cup, two Portuguese Championships, one Cup of Portugal and two Portuguese Super Cups. Between 2004 and 2007 the Portuguese coach came to his 1st experience in Chelsea and won six titles: two Premier League titles, one F.A. Cup, one F.A. Community Shield and three Capital One Cups, putting Chelsea as a top European team. In England, Mourinho ended a fifty year period in which Chelsea hadn't won a Premier League title.
Between 2008 and 2010 Mourinho wrote a beautiful page of Inter Milan's history which culminated with the victory of the 2010 Champions League against Bayern Munich, coached at the time by one of his mentors, the Dutchman Louis van Gaal.
In Italy, Mourinho won the Italian Championship twice, one Italian Cup and one Italian Super Cup. After the Champions League final that happened at the Bernabéu, Mourinho moved to Real Madrid and stayed between 2010 and 2013. He won a Spanish Championship, the Spanish Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.
In 2013, Mourinho returned home to Stamford Bridge with the challenge of restructuring the Chelsea football team.
The 2013/2014 season was a transition period for Chelsea with no titles but this season Mourinho led the Blues squad to win the Capital One Cup, his 4th Cup as Chelsea Manager. The 10 point lead over Arsenal is considered by many to be enough to win the Premier League this season, but let's wait and see for the final result between these two teams on Sunday.
