Leicester City's latest Premier League outing saw them record a third successive victory with a 2-0 win over Swansea and their post-Christmas struggles seem long ago. The Foxes were bottom of the table at the turn of the year and having recorded just nine points in their subsequent 12 games, they looked set to stay there. Their run of 13 matches without a win was the worst of any side in the top flight this season.
But fast forward two or three weeks and Nigel Pearson's side are a completely different prospect: their recent three matches have yielded a points total of nine - as many as they managed in 12 games from January.
Those three successive wins equal their best-ever run of three consecutive Premier League victories for the first time since 2000. And while they're still in the drop zone, they are there solely because of their inferior goal difference. With six matches to turn that around, we could be about to witness one of the greatest escapes in Premier League history.
On current form, The Foxes could find themselves in safety come the final day and their run-in looks fairly straightforward, with the exception of home matches to Chelsea and Southampton. First, however, they travel to Turf Moor, in what is arguably the biggest game of the weekend. Burnley too are fighting for their lives in their first season back in the top flight since 2009.
A win would lift Leicester out of the relegation places for the first time since November. For now, though, there is a long way to go and Nigel Pearson must remind his charges of that, lest their momentum slip in the belief that their job is done.
