It has beenreported that presenter Giuliana Rancic criticized 18 year old actress ZendayaColeman for having her long hair in dreadlocks, saying on Fashion Police that,“I feel like she smells like patchouli oiland weed.”
Fashion Police, originally hosted by the late Joan Rivers has been on TV since September 2010 on the E Entertainmentchannel. Now her side kick Giuliana, who is well known for criticizing actressesoutfits went a bit too far. She later apologized for insulting the young star, and wrote on Twitter. “Dear @Zendaya, I’m sorry I offended you and others.
Iwas referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVERwould!!!” Kelly Osbourne is reportedly unhappy with this situation and does notwant to get involved as she is friends with both women.
Millions of people took to Twitter, complaining that it was not funny and most agreed she looked great. The beautifulactress looked stunning on the red carpet at the Oscars, wearing a Vivienne Westwood silk, off the shoulder whitedress that complimented her perfect figure. However, this was overshadowed by the fact she sports dreadlocks. Zendaya replied with an open letter on Twitter saying how disappointed shewas and how we should listen to Neo soul Singer Indie Arie ‘I am not my hair’, which argues the case that people should not be discriminated on the basis of their hair.
This is not the first time the Fashion Police series has commented on celebrities wearing natural Afro hairstyles. Superstar Beyonce's sister Solange said on Twitter they referred to her hair as "looking like a dog".
Zendaya's hairstyle was inspired by actress LisaBonet, known as the beautiful Lisa Huxtable in the 80's comedy Series "The Cosby Show".
