Insight Lander, a NASA researched mission developed for a detailed study of Mars, has successfully reached Mars' surface on Monday.

For a detailed study on Mars, NASA left on the search mission around seven months ago (on May 5 of this year).

After covering a distance of 30 million miles (458 million kilometres), Insight landed on a stretch of flat ground named Elysium Planitia on Monday. This place is near the equator of this red planet and is like a sheet made from lava.

The purpose of Insight's visit is to investigate the hidden secret within the land of Mars and gather more information.

From Mars, Insight has sent a signal on earth that it is ready to start the work. Insight has spread its solar panel to get sunlight for energy.

NASA's Insight Project Manager Tom Hoffman has said, "Insight can now work smoothly, and it is recharging its batteries."

Ten points of interest about Mars

1 Speaking of planets in our solar system, Mangal is about 14.2 million miles from Suraj. Earth is third in the solar system after which Mars is at number four. Earth is 9.3 million miles from the sun.

2 Mars is almost half its size compared to Earth. Where the diameter of the earth is 7,926 miles, the diameter of Mars is 4,220 miles. Its weight is equal to one-tenth of Mars-Earth.

3 Mars completes the entire life cycle of 687 days.

On this basis, Mars takes double time to circumambulate Suraj and it is 687 days old.

4 One day on Mars (called Solar Day) is 24 hours and 37 minutes.

5 The cold, dusty sandstorm, and then the tornado - all compared to the Earth - is all over Mars. It is believed that the geography of Mars is very good for life.

In summer the temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius and in winter it drops from zero to 140 degrees Celsius.

6 Like Earth, there are four seasons in the year of Mars: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Compared to Earth, every season in Mars remains almost twice as long.

7 Because of the separation of gravitational power on Earth and Mars, a person with a weight of 100 pounds will weigh 38 pounds on Mars.

8 Mars has two moons - Phobos whose diameter is 13.8 miles and Damios, whose diameter is 7.8 miles.

9 Both Mangal and Earth are made up of four layers. The crust that is made of ferrous basaltic stones is the first crust. The second mantra is made of silicate stones.

The third and fourth are the outer core and the internal core. It is believed that they are made of iron and nickel like the core of the Earth. But this core is in the shape of solid metal or it is full of fluid, yet there is no confirmation about it.

10 The atmosphere of Mars has 96% carbon dioxide, 1.93% argon, 0.14% oxygen, and 2% nitrogen.
