The much awaited Hollywood film "Baywatch" is finally going to hit the screen. There is a lot of interest in the movie which is based on the TV series "Baywatch". The movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Pamela Anderson. In addition the Bollywood queen Priyanka Chopra has an important role. People in the East and the Indian diaspora are waiting to see how Priyanka Chopra fares in her first Hollywood film. After the relative success of Deepika Padukone in the film "Return of Xander Cage" attention of the viewers was riveted on Priyanka Chopra who is a knotch higher than Deepika in the Bollywood hierarchy.

Priyanka has done her best and looks sexy in a bikini but all her sex appeal is wasted. The film fails to boost the interest of the public and overall people may feel disappointed. Muscle man Dwayne Johnson gives his best and his muscles ripple on the screen but this is not enough and he cannot save the film
Priyanka Chopra had done well in the series "Quantico" and its clone "Quantico 2" which means the American public has got to know her. Unfortunately, despite a stellar role Priyanka is done in by the script. Critics have given the movie 1 star out of 5, and that's a pretty low score. One wonders if this low score by the critics will affect the movie at the Box Office.
If the movie fails to click the future career of Priyanka Chopra in Hollywood will most likely be affected
A damp squib
It's difficult to point out as to what is the problem in the film, perhaps there is too much action and the story line is too thin. Just trying to cash in on a popular TV series is not the best way to make a hit film.
People have been waiting for this movie over the past year, and with a big star like Dwayne Johnson the movie was expecting to be a cut above the ordinary. Incidentally, Johnson is mulling over the idea of opposing Donald Trump in the next general election
The movie will have its premium on 2nd June and it will be interesting to see how it fares at the box office. Sometimes despite a bad rating by the critics a film still does well.
Last word
The film has its quota of girls in bikinis and love scenes which means in India it will get an adult certificate. The movie is not really suitable for children. The public is anxiously waiting to see how Priyanka Chopra performs. This is her big chance to break into Hollywood and all one can do is to wish her the best. Priyanka is touching 35 and a flop film may not give her another chance.
