depeche mode will be called to prove themselves once again when they will be hitting the stage of the London Stadium on the next 3rd June as part of their newly announced global spirit tour. Believe it or not the band haven't performed in a UK stadium for 23 years now, the last time at the Crystal Palace Center in 1993. Tickets will be on pre-sale on Live Nation's website from Thursday 13th October and are expected to sell out in record time.

The announcement already sparked rumors about the band headlining the Glastonbury Festival but this has yet to be confirmed. The Global Spirit Tour will start in May with 32 dates throughout Europe including the historic gig at the London Stadium. According to the band, a North and South American tour will likely follow.

Proud "Spirit"

Depeche Mode last album, 2012's Delta Machine was released to mixed reviews and slipped to number fourteen in the second week after debuting at number two in the UK album chart. Their well-known back catalog of Music and Dave Gahan reputation as one of the most charismatic performers alive will be more than enough to fill the London Stadium.

Even better, the band has also a new album Spirit due in Spring 2017. Snippets from the new release have been played at the press conference in Milan (link below) and the three from Essex are super-excited about the creative outcome. "We are exceptionally proud of Spirit's sound and energy and we're excited to get back on tour to share it with our fans around the world" said Gahan. The new album has been produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, highly praised by Gahan & co. at the press event. "We're working on the album with a new team: it's produced by James Ford, and he's helped us to make what we feel is a very incredible sounding record. He was able to really guide us" said the singer. The band is also busy at working with famous photographer and previous collaborator Anton Corbijn for the visuals and art to the Spirit album and tour.
