'Rain Man' (1988) - Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman
“Rain Man” is the story of a man called Charlie (Tom Cruise) who suddenly discovers he has a brother he never knew about. His brother, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) is autistic and the pair grows closer after their father passes away. Charlie finds out his father’s estate is dependent on him and Raymond getting on, so he realises they are stuck together. This film features one of Tom Cruise’s most endearing performances ever.
'Caddyshack' (1980) - Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Murray
Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield in one film makes it one of the funniest comedies ever. The film covers the story of the elite Bushwood Country Club and its newest caddie, who goes on to discover just how crazy people at the golf club. This one is really good for a laugh, whether you like golf or not. P.S. "Caddyshack 2" is also streaming on 1 July!
'Philadelphia' (1993) - Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington
Tom Hanks has probably never been seen in a bad movie and Denzel Washington also has a great track record. However, Hanks excels himself in this story about a homosexual with AIDS, fired from his job because of his condition. Washington plays the role of the only lawyer willing to take on his case, even though he is himself a homophobe. This film is compelling viewing throughout.
'Roadhouse' (1989) - Patrick Swayze
“Road House” has been described as being such a bad movie, it is actually great. Patrick Swayze plays Dalton, a bouncer who is employed at the Double Deuce. With a PhD behind him, Dalton cleans up the place well. The film has been described as “Over the top, ridiculous, absurd, silly, unrealistic and violent. I loved every minute of it.” You get the drift?
'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (2005) - Johnny Depp
Sit down with the kids to watch this one, as Johnny Depp plays Willy Wonka, taking a young boy on a tour through what must be the most magnificent chocolate factory ever. Magical scenes and very tempting to all chocaholics!
