The first poster of “Petta” was released in September and featured a menacing and ferocious looking Rajni. The first poster showed a grim Rajni walking into a church with a candle stand in his hand and glass shreds flying around him. The latest poster features a mellowed and smiling Rajni.

'Petta' will be released during Pongal

Rajni fans are in for a twin bonanza – at the end of November, they will see the release of 2.0, which is the sequel to his 2010 film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi). The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha Krishnan and Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in significant roles. The flick has Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, Dr Richards.

“Petta” shooting is believed to have been wrapped up 15 days ahead of schedule, and Rajni fans are in a tizzy anticipating an epic box office clash with Ajith’s “ Viswasam.”

“Petta” was able to find a place on Twitter’s trend list on Wednesday. Hashtag #Petta was able to nudge and find space and even improved on the top trending news '#DeepVeerKiShaadi' which referred to the high profile wedding of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in Italy. “Petta” is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and also stars Simran Bagga and the film which has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
