Former US President Barack Obama gave his first interview since leaving the White House on BBC Radio 4’s “Today” programme today, and it was conducted by Prince Harry. At the end of the interview, which discussed such deep topics as Obama’s legacy and the dangers of using social media in politics, there was a quick-fire round of pop culture questions. Here are Obama’s most interesting answers.
The ex-POTUS hasn’t seen ‘Olympus Has Fallen’
When Harry asked Obama if he preferred “White House Down” or “Olympus Has Fallen,” the ex-POTUS replied that he “didn’t see either” of the Presidential-themed action films. “Olympus Has Fallen” is the only one worth watching, if he is going to catch up. Out of the cinema and the bowling alley, Obama misses going to the cinema the most. He also politely refused to answer the question, “Boxers or briefs?”
Obama prefers Rachel over Monica, Michael Jordan over LeBron James, because he’s “a Chicago guy,” and Aretha Franklin over Tina Turner, because Franklin is “the best.” He had to “defer” on the question, “Kim or Khloe?” Out of Princes Harry and William, Obama picked William (right in front of Harry), and chose “Suits,” which stars Harry’s new fiancée Meghan Markle, over “The Good Wife.” Cigarettes or gum? “Gum now, baby,” quipped Obama.
