Automobile #Lamborghini is known across the world as the outrageous maker of insane and ludicrous supercars and hypercars, their V12 flagship legends span half a century. They’ve certainly come a long way from just making tractors to developing futuristic and science fiction electric hypercars like the #Terzo Millennio, that supposedly runs on #superconductor technology currently in joint development with #MIT. Now they have recently launched a luxury-priced smartphone, the #Tonino Alpha One, set to cost an astonishing £2,250 and only available at select retailers across the globe.

About Tonino Lamborghini

A subdivision of the Automobile #Lamborghini brand is a premium company that creates luxury accessories, to match their supercars, their flagrant designs and supposedly, their price tags. The company is named after its founder, #Tonino Lamborghini, the son of the world-renowned automobile designer #Ferruccio Lamborghini. Founded in 1981 as the ‘Tonino Lamborghini Style and Accessories’ company in developing and producing luxury accessories such as eyewear, watches, headphones and now a smartphone.

Tech Specs

The #Tonino Lamborghini Alpha-One runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, with 4GB of RAM and only 64GB of internal memory storage. Which can be expanded with external memory using a microSD card of up to 128GB.

While also running on Android 7.1 Nougat on a 5.5-inch display and a front facing dual hi-fi Dolby Atmos Digital Surround sound speakers. Where the phone measures at 152 x 77 x 8 mm (height x width x thickness).

With dual SIM card capabilities accepting only two Nano cards, with an integrated fingerprint sensor and a quick charge 3.0 and powered by a 3250mAh non-removable battery, while also packing a 20- megapixel rear camera, with 4k video recording and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

With connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G. Additional sensors on the phone include proximity sensors, accelerometers and ambient light sensors.

Comparison against the iPhone X

With both the iPhone X and the #Tonino Lamborghini Alpha-One having the same screen size, the similarities end there. The Alpha-One has more external features available, one to name a few is a headphone jack, with also an integrated fingerprint sensor.

With the phone being more externally robust and unlikely to suffer any major damage if unintentionally dropped on the floor, due to a thicker frame and casing.

Though on the technical side, both phones feature the same 64GB internal memory storage. However, the #Alpha-One has the ability to increase its memory storage with an external memory card slot. Again, both phones feature the same software capabilities, such as supporting 3G, 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth. Anything that’s standard on most smartphones both will have in them, though the difference between the two phones is obviously identified when using the camera. The #Tonio Lamborghini Alpha-One has a 20-megapixel camera, with 4k video recording, making it a great phone to take pictures with and record high-quality footage.

Although the iPhone X has dual 12-megapixel cameras on the back the iPhone X has better camera features, including face detection, smile detection, Geo tagging, panorama and touch to focus. Making it a better device to take professional photos.

On the technical aspects, the Alpha-One has 4GB of RAM compared to the iPhone X’s 3GB meaning the more space there is the more applications can run parallel to one another without suffering any performance issues such as lag. However, the iPhone greatly excels with the CPU that’s integrated into the device. With it running a Hexa Core CPU, meaning the iPhone X will run smoother and better. While also increasing better parallelism in ensuring more tasks can be processed without slowing down the User Interface.

Concluding outcome

An impressive feat for an automobile manufacturer to break into the smartphone market, with #Tonino Lamborghini already having a well-established reputation for producing high quality, high priced and highly rare accessories with their launch of the #Alpha-One. An impressive device launched by a company that has no prior history or experience in developing smartphones, that being said, exclusivity is still a concept that is carried onto the Alpha-One with it being available only in Harrods in the UK.

Though the phone’s luxury price tag is the same as their luxury supercars and hypercars. Outrageous in price, but bedazzling to look upon, although the phone does compliment those few who own a #Lamborghini.

With it being a matching set, it is, however, unlikely to make large sales primarily due to its price. But it does make it exclusive, however, on the domestic market, there are better options available. Though the phone, much like its parent’s supercars, is more of a status symbol purchased by the world’s wealthy elite.
