End of the road
The semifinal hopes of Pakistan came crashing down when England defeated New Zealand by a considerable margin.
Pakistan will need to beat the Tigers by an astounding margin to make into the final four. It was a sad end to the journey of one of the most unpredictable teams to play in the World Cup.
The runoff to the Pakistanis was eerily similar to the 1992 World Cup which remains the only Cup which was won by the nation. However, their hopes were dashed when India lost to England.

Heroics in vain
Nothing like the India Pakistan rivalry and nothing hurts either team more than losing to the other.
Pakistan after their loss to arch-rivals India had made a remarkable comeback, defeating South Africa, New Zealand, and Afghanistan.
Babar Azam was going great guns, and Shaheen Afridi's five-wicket haul against New Zealand boosted the much-needed confidence of the Pakistanis. However, in the end, their heroics went vain.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, was a bit unlucky, and most matches which they lost were cliffhangers. However, a victory against Pakistan who was their masters once, before a bitter war in 1971 led to the Birth of the nation of Bangladesh. A win against Pakistan will be a great morale booster for the Tigers.
