Mendis' form keep Sri Lanka team management on the edge
Nuwan Pradeep has been sent home to Sri Lanka after being diagnosed with Chickenpox. Kasun Rajitha has been named as the replacement of the pacer. Though, it pretty sure Rajitha won't be in contention for the getting a spot in the XI.
Jeevan Mendis's poor performance may lead to his axe in this match. Milinda Siriwardana is the like for like replacement for Mendis. Other than this, Sri Lanka isn't likely to make any changes to their side.
No update of Lewis' injury yet
West Indies might do away with Oshane Thomas, who was quite expensive with the ball against India.
More than anything, it seems that Thomas needs some rest. West Indies may, in fact, end up playing two spinners. Ashley Nurse could come into the side which already has Fabian Allen. Evin Lewis who missed the previous match due to injury could continue being in the sidelines. Sunil Ambris will open the innings in that case.
During the previous match played at Durham, the pitch was slightly slow yet really good for batting. The dry and hot weather in Durham should've dried the pitch even more now. This should make the pitch a bit more spin friendly. The weather will be quite clear and the temperature will be warm and dry.
