The Fourth ODI between England and Pakistan will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Friday, May 17, 2019. The match will begin at 13:00 hrs local, noon GMT.

The English batting continues to dominate the proceeding as in the past two ODI, and the visitors are getting tantalizingly close to the finish line but are unable to complete the task. As for the English side, their bowling seems woefully inadequate, especially in the middle over where the visitors have opened their arms and scored the maximum runs.

There is more trouble for the English team who will have to go to the field for the fourth ODI without their regular captain who was banned for one match for the slow over rate. Joe Butler, who was rested for the third ODI will take the cudgels of the skipper in place of Morgan who also had to forfeit 40 percent of his match earnings as per an ICC ruling.

The key player who served as a sheet anchor for the English team was Jonny Bairstow who scored 51 and 128 after an excellent tour of West Indies and a productive stint in the IPL 2019.

He is a player who can play well against both pace and spin and will be one player who opposing teams will have to contend in the forthcoming World Cup scheduled to begin from May 30.

Another player who did well in the third ODI was Ben Stokes. He had a lackluster performance in the IPL but regained form and scored a brisk 37 off 38 balls.

Pitch Conditions

The pitch is believed to be a batting paradise, and we can expect a high scoring match akin to the third ODI. As for past statistics, the hosts have amassed 400+ runs in the last two of the three matches played there.

Even though Pakistan has lost the previous two matches by a whisker, their batting strength can surely get them to their first win and a significant part of such a victory could be credited to mediocre bowling attack of the hosts.
