New Zealand's performance was dismal in the first game but it is expected they won't make any changes to their side and give this combination another shot.

The only change which blackcaps might make is that of bringing in Colin de Grandhomme in place of Doug Bracewell which might strengthen their batting. Ish Sodhi could come into the picture as well considering the track in Mount Maunganui which supports the spinners.

Kohli rested for last two ODIs, while Pandya gets a recall

Even though India is unlikely to make any changes to their line-up from the first ODI, but there is news surrounding the squad. Captain Virat Kohli has been rested for the last two ODIs and the following three T20Is. The board announced that it is trying to manage the skipper workload and keep him fit for the home series against Australia and the world cup during the summer.

Rohit Sharma will lead the side in those games.

BCCI's CoA has finally lifted the suspension from Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul with immediate effect. The two players were sent back home from the Australian tour amidst their appearance on an Indian talk-show and the comments which they made on the national television.

After a long discussion, the CoA couldn't possibly come up with a punishment for the duo and their suspension was lifted. Pandya will join the squad in New Zealand for the rest of the ODIs and T20Is, while Rahul will represent India A against England Lions in the meantime. Rahul's replacement Shubnam Gill will continue to be with the squad in New Zealand and so will Hardik's replacement, Vijay Shankar.

The Bay Oval has one of the flattest track in the country and it was proven during the last series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

The small boundaries on this venue also help the high-scoring games but there might some turn for the spinners on this track. The weather forecast seems perfect on the day with no rain expected and the temperatures will be close to 25 degree Celsius.
