Abbas' injury paves way for Shaheen Afridi

Mohammad Abbas has been ruled out of the third Test due to a shoulder injury. Young left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi will be making his Test debut for Pakistan. According to an ESPN Cricinfo report, Pakistan might make another change in the side. Bilal Asif has been in an indifferent form, and Pakistan might consider replacing him with Faheem Ashraf.

De Grandhomme's form under the scanner

Seamer Trent Boult played two back-to-back matches and there is a possibility of him getting rested for the decider.

Cricbuzz reported that Tim Southee is in line for replacing him in the side. Colin De Grandhomme has been in some poor form with the bat.

Even though, he has been bowling well with the new ball but hasn't found much success with the old ball. Spinner Ish Sodhi might be replaced with William Somerville due to his average performances in both the matches.

The Abu Dhabi pitch has produced results in the last four matches played here.

The pitch favours the pacers slightly more than the spinners, but it is unlikely that this match will be a high-scoring game. There is no threat of rain through the five days of the match so fans can expect a good game of cricket under the bright sun.
