The second Test between Pakistan and Australia is being played from October 16, 2018, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The Pakistani skipper will be under pressure for his approach, especially his bowling attack in the drawn first Test.

Australia 20/1

Pakistan 282 all-out (Sarfaraz Ahmed 94)

Pakistan won the toss and batted first

The Pakistani side had some chances which were fettered away. Tim Paine’s side had to put in all their efforts to draw the Test under stifling conditions. The kangaroos defied all predictions and survived 139.5 over to ensure the draw.

Same Old Story

There is even more bad news for the Pakistani side. Imam-ul-Haq has been ruled out of the second test due to a fractured finger sustained during a fielding stint on the fifth day of the First Test.

The next Test will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi and Aussie seamer, Mitchell Starc who toiled on a lifeless pitch in the first Test will surely heave a sigh of relief to see a greener pitch for the second test. The grassier pitch could prompt the Aussie selectors to include the third seamer.

There are talks that Starc will be rested for the upcoming series against India. However, Starc seems to be in no mood to rest.

Advantage Pakistan

The Aussies were tottering in the first inning but made a spectacular comeback in the second inning and were able to save the test. The last time Australia and Pakistan had faced each other, Pakistan had decisively beaten the Aussies by 356 runs.

One silver lining in the drawn test match was Khawaja's extraordinary performance. It will give the Aussies a boost in confidence. The Kangaroos have played five overseas Test matches and won only one.

The trio of Usman, Aaron Finch, and Travis Head have been good with the bat in the first Test, and skipper Paine will like them to continue their form. However, his main concern will be the performance of the Marsh brothers who have not been very good with their bat.

The match will be available on Fox Sports in Australia and PTV Sports in Pakistan.
