Keeping all the controversies and talks aside, Manchester United is set to host Valencia in a Champions League Group H game on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the Old Trafford Ground in Manchester.

The two teams have been slotted in Group H alongside Juventus and Young Boys. Juventus will also host Young Boys on Tuesday night at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Coming back to the game Old Trafford game, Manchester United and Valencia last played a Champions League game way back in 2010. The game was hosted by United and had ended in a 1-1 draw.

Ashley Young out with an injury

The trio of Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young, and Ander Herrera will not be available for this crucial game. Young led the club during their Saturday's Premier League loss to West Ham while Herrera and Lingard had missed that game as well.

Defender Marcos Rojo hasn't played in this season yet due to his injury and will continue to be in the sidelines.

United is going through a dip in form as they have not won any of their three games which were played since their 3-0 win against Young Boys in their first Champions League game this season. United is currently at the top of Group H.

As reported by BBC, Manager Jose Mourinho stated that some of his players "care more than others" in a press conference in the build-up to the game when he was questioned about the team's poor run.

The match against Valencia will be crucial for Manchester United as they are gonna play two back-to-back home games in the Champions League as Juventus is set to tour Old Trafford on October 23, 2018.

Valencia looking to turn their season around

Spanish side Valencia is playing its first champions league since 2015-16.

The club is currently at the third position in Group H, following their 2-0 loss against Juventus at home in their first game of the season.

As reported by BBC, Valencia has not started their La Liga season well either, after winning just one of their seven games so far. The club is placed at the 14th place in the La Liga points table, with five draws and one loss accompanying their solitary win.
