Rumours have been rife for months of Lacazette's potential move to Arsenal and have only increased since Lyon revealed they have rejected a £29.3 million approach from the Gunners. It remains to be seen whether Lyon will sell their prize asset, however if they do Lacazette could be the man to speahead Arsenal's title challenge.

Goals

Lacazette is a proven. 21 goals in 34 games in Lyon's 2015/16 Ligue 1 campaign has ignited interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs. Second only to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the scoring charts, Lacazette could provide an alternative goal scoring threat to the inconsistent Olivier Giroud.

Partnershipwith Giroud

Arsene Wenger has stoutly defended Giroud throughout his Arsenal career and if Lacazette were to join, it would be to play with Giroud, not instead of. Giroud performs at his best when he has someone playing around him - Griezemann at Euro 2016 a clear example. Giroud's hold up play is second to none and would compliment Lacazette's pace and ability to get in behind the defence. The potential link up playbetween Giroud and Lacazette would provide Arsenal with a direct attacking threat, which is lacking at the moment.

Big Money Signing

Lacazette's arrival would not only improve Arsenal on the pitch but would reinvigorate a disgruntled fan base. Arsenal fans have been crying out for big money signing to keep up pace with the heavy spending of their title rivals.

Lacazette's arrival would ease the pressure mounting on Arsene Wenger, in what could be his final season in charge.

As is typical withforeign players, doubts remain over whether Lacazette could transfer his form in Ligue 1 to the more competitive and physical Premier League. However, Lacazette has all the necessary attributes to succeed and only needs an opportunity to showcase his talent.

Arsenal have already failed to sign Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain this transfer window - who decided to remain at Leicester and move to Juventus respectively. Lacazette, only 25, would provide a quality long term addition to the squad. If Lacazette doesn't join Arsenal this season, don't be surprised to see him lighting up the Permier League inanother team's coloursin the near future.
