World number four Ronnie O'Sullivan with stood a very brave fightback from now world number seven Judd Trump in a thrilling contest. Both players who went into this final in good form after victories over Stuart Bingham and Stephen Maguire respectively.

Twenty five year old Judd Trump , who potentially was suffering from fatigue after with standing a fight back from Stephen Maguire yesterday - got off to a slow start and the 2011 winner soon found him self 5-1 down. Both players were struggling for fluency as Judd Trump could only manage a break of 56 at one point and the 'Rocket' only 82.

Despite the struggles of both players, there was one common theme in the match, Judd Trump would make a start in the frame- but would run out of position or play a poor safety which allowed O'Sullivan back into the frame and ultimately clinch frames that he shouldn't have had the right to win. The five time world champion was ruthlessly punishing every mistake of `Trump's, to the 25 year old Trumps credit, he did pinch the last two frames of the session which meant the world number seven only trailed by two frames going in to tonights final session just 5-3 down.

Buoyed on by winning those two frames, Judd Trump came out of the blocks quicker in the second session, initially - but when the 25 year old's break broke down, Ronnie O'Sullivan ruthlessly extended his advantage and took two of the first three fames.

8-4 quickly became 9-4 , the Rocket was in serious danger of embarrassing Judd Trump, the 39 year old scored a break of 133 in the final session to stamp his authority on proceedings. Trump looked down and out, the 25 year old was painting a very dejected picture of himself as Trumps body language was suggesting he was 'down and out'.

Amazingly it spurred on the man from Bristol who reeled of the next five frames in no time at all to miraculously level things up at 9-9. O'Sullivan was shocked and stunned with such a come back, the 'Rocket' missed a chance to win the match in the 18th frame - but such was the pressure that Judd Trump was putting on O'Sullivan, even Ronnie himself was feeling it.

In that five game winning streak Judd Trump managed two century breaks. So to the final frame the players went, and at that point the momentum was with the 2011 Uk champion Trump. With what was at stake the final frame started off as a bit more of tactical at fair - at first.

A mistake though by Judd Trump who miss judged a safety shot allowed Ronnie O'Sullivan to clear and deny Judd Trump a fairytale come back. There are fine margins in sport and Ronnie O'Sullivan demonstrated that this evening.

Ronnie O'Sullivan with this win managed to secure the impressive feat of being a five time world champion, Uk champion miraculously Masters champion, Ronnie will now doubt be looking to add to his impressive tally of 27 ranking tittles no doubt, the 39 year old will get a chance in the next few weeks at the palace theatre for the masters tournament which starts in January.
