“The Winds Of Winter” is considered one of the most-anticipated books of the past few years as it is said to tackle all last few final episodes of the popular HBO series, “game of thrones.” However, it seems like the sixth book of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” will be facing another postponement as George RR Martin focuses more on other things.
George RR Martin stops writing ‘The Winds of Winter’ book for ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8
Recent reports are suggesting that George RR Martin is currently not working on “The Winds of Winter” book, as he has other priorities right now.
According to speculations, the New Mexican writer has decided to stop writing the much-awaited book after the “Game of Thrones” Season 6 Episode 10 revealed a handful of spoilers.
Martin reportedly became disappointed with David Benioff and Dan Weiss for featuring some spoilers for the upcoming sixth “A Song of Ice and Fire” novel, which pushed him to quit writing for a while. Before Season 6 began, the veteran author had expressed to his avid fans that he cannot finish the book on time.
“Believe me, it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You’re disappointed, and you’re not alone,” George RR Martin posted on his blog in January 2016; http://grrm.livejournal.com/465247.html The creator of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series added that his editors, publishers and translators were also frustrated with the fact “The Winds of Winter” will not be able to hit the bookstores on the expected date.
Despite this, Martin has promised his fans that he would finish it as soon as he can. “I am going back to my stance from last March, before all this. It will be done when it’s done. And it will be as good as I can possibly make it,” the brain behind “A Game of Thrones” stated last year.

Meanwhile, the "A Feast of Crows" writer has recently established the StageCoach Foundation, which aims to help budding filmmakers improve their skills in production. “The Winds of Winter” author is reportedly planning to ask the help of his good pals in Hollywood to help train the newbies.
Aside from that, Martin has also been reported to be writing the script of five “Game of Thrones” spinoffs. According to rumours, the upcoming “Game of Thrones” Season 8 is going to be the last installment of the TV series but spinoff series are totally going to follow after its finale.
Up until now, George RR Martin has not yet released any official details about “The Winds of Winter” book. Hence, all fans can do right now is wait and keep their fingers crossed.
