lady gaga spoke again about madonna, reigniting a feud that has been going on since 2012.
Interviewed by Beats1,Gagashrugged off comparisonsstating: "I wouldn’t make that comparison at all. I don’t mean to disrespect Madonna. She’s a nice lady. And she’s had a fantastic, huge career. She’s the biggest pop star of all time. But I play a lot of instruments, I write all my own Music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio, I’m a producer, I’m a writer. What I do is different. I’m not just rehearsing over and over again to put on a show." Madonna replied to these comments with somecryptic posts on Instagram, then deleted them.
While we wait for an interviewer to eventuallypose the question to Madge, here's some reasons why Gaga's remarksare to be considered inaccurate.
Madonna, songwriter and producer
The argument that Madonna is not a pure musiciancould have been used in 1985, when she was the Like A Virgin phenomenondining at the table of more accomplishedtalentslike Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. She compensated by basically inventing the concept of female pop star and workingwith the best people she could find (which remains a talent itself, indeed). Madonna clearly isn't one after raving reviews but more rewarding commercial success.
Perhaps her proverbial self confidencehas stoppedher from defendingher songwriting skills or maybe she finds it a boring subject.
It's known she used to play drums in her previous bands and can play a guitarif she wants to write a song. Madonna's 1983 debutalbum contains songs entirely written by her, including classic gem Lucky Star. Another Madonna-penned track, Masterpiece, won her the Golden Globe for best song in 2012.
