Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India

Kanyakumari is a coastal city in India in the Tamil Nadu state. During British rule the town was called Cape Comorin, and set on the Laccadive Sea. The beach is popular for both sunrises and sunsets, and is also a noted pilgrimage site for its Bagavathi Amman Temple and the Our Lady of Ransom Church, which is at the heart of Indian Catholicism.

Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Heading to south western Kenya, this beautiful view is of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, which spreads along the border with Tanzania. The area is world-renowned for the annual migration of lions, elephants, cheetahs, hippos and zebras. The area features grassy plains and beautiful rolling hills and a number of Maasai villages are located close by.

Taj Mahal, India

Staying in India, we now visit the Taj Mahal at sunset. This massive white marble mausoleum was built between 1631 and 1648 on the command of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. He built it in memory of his favourite wife. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is particularly beautiful at both sunrise and sunset.

Isle of Skye, Scotland

The Isle of Skye in Scotland is a magical place, no matter what time of day, but to enjoy the perfect sunset head to the westerly tip of the island, close to Glendale.
