All five seasons of “Haven” are available on Netflix right now, and cover the story of a small town in Maine called Haven, where strange and supernatural events keep occurring, called simply “The Troubles.” People in the town have strange powers and FBI agent Audrey Parker (played by Emily Rose) gets sent there to find out what is going on. '1922' (2017) - Netflix Original Film

“1922” is based on the Stephen King novella of the same name and features stellar performances by Thomas Jane, Molly Parker and Neal McDonough. It tells the story of a farmer, whose wife, Arlette, owns the farm. When she wants to move into town and sell the farm, he can’t bear to part with it. He and his son Henry kill Arlette and throw her down the well. Things predictably go horribly wrong from there on in.

'Gerald's Game' (2017) - Netflix Original Film

Based on the novel of the same name, many fans couldn’t figure out how they could make a film of the novel, due to the content of the story. However, they did, and they did it very well. It features Bruce Greenwood and Carla Guigino, who take an out-of-season break at their remote lake house. Trying to spice up their marriage, Gerald handcuffs Jessie to the bed. When Jessie changes her mind and kicks out at him, he collapses dead from a heart attack. She has no key to the handcuffs...

'The Mist' - TV series

‘The Mist’ is adapted from a 1980 novella and veers away from the original. It is a sci-fi/horror series featuring a small Maine town which is enveloped in a deadly mist. The town’s residents soon realise that anyone that goes out into the mist dies a horrible death, so they take shelter in various buildings in the town, including a church, hospital and a shopping mall. The show also died horribly and will probably not see a second season, but it’s worth watching for die-hard fans.

'In the Tall Grass' - Netflix Original Film coming soon

Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill, co-wrote “In the Tall Grass,” the story of a pair of siblings who stop to help a boy who seems to be lost in a field of tall grass. It turns out there is an unknown evil entity lurking there and it appears there is no escape. The Netflix adaptation of the story is coming during 2019 and will star Patrick Wilson (“Watchmen”). Another King/Hill adaptation is coming next, from the novella anthology series, “Throttle.”
