'Bodyguard'

The lead character David Budd is played by Richard Madden, previously known for his role as Robb Stark in "Game of Thrones." Budd is a modern-day Scottish Jack Bauer. BBC has a reputation for producing good televisions series’, such as Luther. "Bodyguard" takes on a similar narrative to Luther as the hero of the show is a troubled officer of the law, whose personal life and professional life often collide in a flurry of chaos, setting up Budd as the ultimate anti-hero.

'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'

An American sitcom which first premiered in 2005 and is now one of the longest-running shows in American TV history. The narrative follows the adventures and mishaps of a group misfit bar owners is South Philadelphia. Paddy’s pub is the main setting of the show and central hub of the narrative, as the gang tend to plan their schemes and operate from. The show differs slightly from its rival shows as it features a darker sense of comedy.

'Unsolved: Tupac & Biggie'

The first season of "Unsolved" premiered in February of 2018 and follows a dramatized re-enactment of the investigation of Tupak Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G (Christopher Wallace), in particular, the investigation of Greg Kading. The series follows the investigation of the murders across multiple timelines, providing an in-depth understanding of the circumstances and controversy surrounding their deaths.

'Money Heist'

This show may be in Spanish, but it’s definitely worth the watch if you don’t mind some subtitles. "Money Heist" follows the story of a group of specially chosen individuals who attempt to pull off the biggest heist in history. The entire ruse is spearheaded by a sinister mastermind known only as ‘The Professor’. However external elements prove to complicate matters, and the group have to prepare for a run in with the police. A thrilling show with a well thought out narrative.

'Unforgotten'

Lastly, we have another British crime drama. However, "Unforgotten" focuses on a section of the police department that looks specifically at old unsolved cases, with the aim to solve and close the cases. Following the investigations of DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil Khan, the show uncovers the effects of cold cases on the detectives as well as the victim’s families and friends. The show is currently on its third season and each season deals with a different case of murder or disappearance.
