Mayank, Siraj earn maiden call-ups
Mayank Agarwal and Mohammad Siraj were given their maiden Test call-up for the two-match Test series against Windies. Both the players have performed brilliantly for India A and their respective domestic sides. The selectors also decided to leave out Dinesh Karthik and Karun Nair from the squad which played the Test series in England while Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma were rested for the short series.

Prithvi Shaw scores a century on Test debut
With Murli Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan been left out from the squad for the two-Test matches against Windies, the 18-year-old Prithvi Shaw was given his debut Test cap during the first Test in Rajkot. He scored a century on debut. Shaw was also the part of the squad which played the last two Tests in England in early September but didn't get a place in the XI.

Kemar Roach missed the first Test
Kemar Roach was unavailable for selection for the first Test in Rajkot which starts on October 4. The fast-bowler had initially traveled with the squad for the Test series but had to leave for Barbados after the death of his grandmother.

Indore ODI shifted to Vishakapatnam
A bitter tussle between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) over the number of complimentary tickets' distribution resulted in moving the second ODI between India and Windies out of Indore. The game is scheduled on October 24 at Visakhapatnam.
