Allow me to share a bit about this beautiful place, my hometown, the Queen City of the South - Cebu.

One of the three major cities in the Philippines, Cebu is a historic destination, opted by many locals and tourists. Well, if you are in doubt, century-old churches and vintage landmarks can attest to that. Then again, it's not just history that makes Cebu a go-to destination. There are many different reasons to travel to this place, but I can give you five, at least.

1. Popular Landmarks

Magellan's Cross, Lapu-Lapu Shrine, Kawasan Falls, Lambug Beach, and SM Seaside Cebu - these are just 5 of the places tourists want to go to when they visit the Queen City.

But there are still plenty of them. Because they're so many, perhaps it'll take days to list them all. And for sure, one week won't be enough to visit them all. Hence, if you plan to take a vacation in Cebu, I suggest you spend 3 months here.

2. Beautiful Beaches

As mentioned above, Cebu has lots of popular landmarks. And considering that this place is an island, it should be surrounded by bodies of water. Thankfully, Cebu is blessed with wide sandbars, pristine beaches, and world-class diving spots. You wouldn't want to miss any of them!

3. Good Food

Cebuanos are masters in the kitchen. They know what good food tastes and how to make one. Yet, Cebu wouldn't be in the map if it wasn't for its juicy and tasty lechon!

Still, every locality in the province has a special dish they take pride of. For instance, Carcar is to chicharon, Mandaue is to bibingka, Argao is to torta, and so on.

4. Talented Locals

Cebu is home to many talents, who are making a name in the international scene. Kenneth Cobonpue, a popular inudstrial designer, has been receiving awards for his unique furniture works.

Monique Lhuillier, a fashion designer, is making headlines in the bridal industry. Well, did these two names convince you how talented Cebuanos are?

5. Colorful Celebration

Sinulog, the biggest and grandest festival in the country, is among the many reasons why people visit Cebu. Celebrated every 3rd Sunday of January, this festivity aims to celebrate the child Jesus through colorful parades, upbeat dances, fireworks competition, and fun street parties!

Are you going to Cebu anytime soon? If you are, then don't forget to bring your cameras! There's just so much beauty to capture. Plus, it's safe and secure, unlike others out there!
