The famous chip-set making company Qualcomm has introduced a processor Snapdragon 690 that provides 5G network connectivity. This is the first 5G processor to be seen in Qualcomm 600 series.
This is the first 5th generation chip-set delivered by Qualcomm for its 600 series with Qualcomm AI engine, Qualcomm hexa tensor accelerator that will deliver AI based imaging, smart camera, AI gaming experience.
According to some reports, the CPU cores are divided into two segments, the two main Cortex- A77 running speed is up to 2GHz and secondary companion six Cortex-A55 running speed up to 1.7 GHz.
. It is built on Samsung's 8-nanometer fabrication process which provides the facility of Qualcomm kyro 560 CPU. In terms of performance, it will perform 20 percent better than the previous Snapdragon 675 mobile platform.

Due to this Snapdragon 690 mobile platform multimedia tasks should receive much better performance the ability to record in HDR10 format and support for much faster refresh rate displays.
The CPU clock speed is up to 2.0 GHz and architecture is of 64 bit. Cellular Technology is HSPA/WCDMA/TDSCDMA/CDMA 1x/EV-DO/GSM/EDGE, supports LTE Technology including CRBS support. Provides 2x2 mobile connectivity and dual wifi antenna. This chip-set is going to be used in the upcoming 5G Affordable Smart Phones. More people will be able to access 5G than before.
The company has revealed that devices powered by the Snapdragon 690 will be available commercially in the second half of 2020, and more than 1800 devices will run from this chip-set. The company has stated that many companies who make smartphones (LG Electronics, Motorola, Sharp, TCL, Wingtech) will use this Snapdragon 690 chip-set in their upcoming smartphone production.
