Dean Elgar named the Proteas skipper

South African captain Faf du Plessis has been suspended for one game following his second slow over-rate offence in recent times. Dean Elgar will lead the side for the final Test. According to the Cricbuzz report, Zubayr Hamza is likely to debut for the Proteas replacing their captain.

Opener Aiden Markram suffered an injury in the previous game which may force him to sit out for this game.

Even though there is no confirmation yet, if Markram sits out uncapped player, Pieter Malan will also make his debut.

There have been some controversies making rounds in the media regarding the Pakistan dressing room since the conclusion of the previous Test.

Haris Sohail's departure to Pakistan doesn't leave the visitors with too many batting options, but a fast Joburg pitch might call for the exclusion of leg-spinner Yasir Shah.

Hasan Ali, who missed the Cape Town, could be a possible replacement if that's what captain Sarfaraz Ahmed decides to do.

It will be interesting to see what the Wanderer's pitch has to offer after last year's Test between South Africa and India. The bounce should be persistent while batsmen will have to adjust with the swing on offer.

The weather should be good early on in the Test, but there are rains expected on day three and four.
