Test Squads

Lungi Ngidi will miss the Test series for the home team due to a knee injury during the Australian tour earlier this year. Duanne Olivier, who has 17 wickets from five Tests, has been called back up into the side as his replacement.

The rest of the squad led by Faf du Plessis is, as usual, packed with superstars like Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, etc.

Vernon Philander was initially named in the squad but will miss the first Test with a finger injury.

Pakistan has recalled Mohammad Amir, and Shadab Khan for this Test series after the duo misses the series against New Zealand in the UAE. Opener Fakhar Zaman has also returned to the squad alongside Shan Masood, who takes the place of the recently retired Mohammad Hafeez. Pakistan dropped spinner Bilal Asif, while they added Mohammad Rizwan as a backup wicketkeeping option.
