Kiwis face the Pak challenge

After winning the Test series against Australia 1-0, Pakistan will be eyeing to down New Zealand next.

There is no update on Imam-ul-Haq's injury, which he suffered during the second ODI.

If he misses out, Fakhar Zaman will be seen partnering Mohammad Hafeez, as he did during the second Test against Australia last month. Rest of the side is also expected to be the same as the one in that match.

Todd Astle will be missing the Test series due to an injury, hence the bowling onus will be on Ish Sodhi and William Somerville.

While the batting looks settled, the bowling will be tested in these conditions. Jeet Raval is expected to open the innings with Tom Latham, in the absence of the more experienced batsman Martin Guptill.

Pakistan won the Test match against Australia in Abu Dhabi last month by 373 runs. The spinners were expected to take more wickets, but it was Pakistan's pacer Mohammad Abbas who enjoyed a lot of success picking up a ten-wicket haul in that game.

Once again, New Zealand will have to face quality of the Pakistan bowlers to script a win on this wicket. Weather will be bright and sunny through the five days of the Test; hence the pitch will stay dry on the outside.
