Rishabh Pant is set to make his ODI debut when India take on Windies in the first ODI at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, October 21, 2018. The two teams are facing in a five-match ODI series for the first time since July 2017. Indians had travelled to Windies back then and had won the series 3-1.

The match is scheduled to start at 1:30 PM IST, 8:00 AM GMT.

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will be hosting its first ODI, hence there's very little which can be said about the pitch. The stadium has hosted a T20I though, and it was a low scoring game, which Australia won against India last year.

One thing can be said, the pitch will offer some turn and some swing with the new ball. The weather forecast of Guwahati is absolutely on point, with a bright sunny day in store for the two teams.

Star Sports live streaming details

Star Sports channels Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 Hindi and Star Sports Select will be televising the ODI series live in India and its subcontinent.

Hotstar, the digital platform by Star, will provide the live streaming on its app and website, but the facility is limited to certain countries. Jio TV app users can also enjoy this facility in India.

Hapless Windies play a confident home team

India announced their 12-men side for the first ODI one day prior to the match. Rishabh Pant is set to make his ODI debut and will fit in the middle-order with Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni. Virat Kohli returned to the one-day setup after missing the Asia Cup.

Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami have also been named in the side, along with Khaleel Ahmed.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is certain of a place in the XI alongside one or two wrist-spinners. The decision of playing two spinners or three spinners will be taken before the start of the game.

Windies find themselves in a bit of tangle. Even though the side has some experienced players such as Marlon Samuels and Jason Holder, the rest of the side looks like a mere reflection of the talented white-ball players the side could have.

The absence of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis will be definitely hurt the visitors, but the side has some replacements in store. With the World Cup coming next year, Windies will hope to get some key adjustments done right in front of a top international side like India.
