Match delayed due to wet outfield

Root to be rested while Perera set to lead the Lankans

Thisara Perera is set to lead the T20 side even though ODI skipper Dinesh Chandimal is in the side.

According to Cricbuzz, Sadeera Samarawickrama has been called up in place of Kusal Perera who has not recovered properly from his quad strain. Pacer Isuru Udana is one player that is likely to be added to the Sri Lankan XI from the ODIs, vastly due to his experience in the T20 format.

Cricbuzz reported that Joe Root could be rested for this one-off T20I match, keeping in mind the Test series ahead. This could pave way for Joe Denly, who hasn't played an international game for over eight years. T20 specialist Chris Jordan is expected to partner Tom Curran with the new ball. Jos Butler will also continue to open the batting with Jason Roy with Alex Hales batting at no. 3.

Sky Sports Cricket channel will telecast the SL v Eng match live in the UK.

The Sri Lanka Cricket association will stream the game live on its Youtube channel.

The weather forecast of Colombo is as dull as it has been for the entire tour so far.

With thunderstorms expected in the afternoon, it is uncertain whether we might get an entire game. If the match happens, the pitch is expected to flat and great for batting.

There should be some spin on offer from the turf which should make both the sides happy given the spinners they have.

In another international match today, India face West Indies in the 3rd ODI at Hyderabad.
