The myriad of trades and changes that are happening in the league right now will go down as one of the most entertaining yet controversial seasons. We’ve seen movements that made us scratch our heads and trades that bewildered the entire association. LeBron James signing with the Los Angeles Lakers showed that anything is possible in the league. The defending champions Golden State Warriors also made a move in a big way by the name of multiple All Star, DeMarcus Cousins.

Kawhi Leonard’s busy offseason

The current landscape of the league still favours the Western Conference team, but the offseason changes are far from over.

The San Antonio Spurs, who is arguably the greatest organisation for almost two decades is facing a new dilemma. Ever since Kawhi Leonard got injured, there’s seems to be an ongoing rift between him and the Spurs organisation. After months of recovering, Kawhi’s camp refused to play, although he is already cleared by the Spurs medical team. That started the buzz about him wanting out of the old Riverwalk.

Various rumours from his camp state that The Klaw wants to go to Los Angeles. Now that LeBron James is already with the Lakers, Kawhi’s team might be targeting the other franchise in the City of Angels which is the Clippers. Spurs need more assets in exchange for their franchise player, however, and Clippers don’t have that option.

The Boston Celtics were also reported by ESPN and ABC as front-runners in landing Leonard. The only problem is, neither team is ready to unload their cornerstones. The 76ers were also interested but the Spurs rejected the offer

The Team of the North looks to add the Beast from the West

The Toronto Raptors, who got swept during the Eastern Semi-Finals looks to revamp their roster and they’ve also requested the services of Kawhi Leonard.

Insider states that the Raptors are willing to unload their franchise player Demar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard. Longtime Spurs fanatic and sports analyst Skip Bayless also loved the idea as he sees DeRozan as a perfect fit to the “beautiful game” of San Antonio.

Minnesota troubled-wolves

A few hours ago, Jimmy Butler also declined the contract extension offered by his current team.

The rumours of him having issues with Karl Anthony-Towns seem to be true. The one-two punch experiment by the Minnesota Timberwolves isn’t working and it is crumbling before their eyes. There’s no clear detail yet on what their differences are all about, but Butler wants out. His most likely destination is the Boston Celtics to create a super team to counter the Golden State Warriors.
