Chris Hemsworth is getting set to take on the role of Hulk Hogan in a new Netflix WWE biopic. The movie which covers the origin story of Hogan has not yet been given a title name, and yet we should expect authenticity as Hogan is in on it as a consultant and executive producer.

The Hollywood Reporter noted in their exclusive, that "Deals for the Hogan project are in the midst of closing with Netflix. Producing will be Michael Sugar, the Academy Award winner behind "Spotlight", who will produce via his Netflix-based Sugar23, and Phillips and Bradley Cooper, who will produce via their banner Joint Effort.

Also producing will be Hemsworth and Eric Bischoff."

WWE Hulk Hogan origins story

Chris Hemsworth may have to beef up a bit more and take loads of energy boosters, as Hulk Hogan's no lightweight in the world of WWE. However, we do know that Hemsworth works out really seriously. A source told THR that we can expect the movie to focus on the Hulkster and Hulkamania period and that more recent scandals won't be included in it.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail reminds us that "Hogan, 65, began his career in the late 1970s on the Florida wrestling circuit. Born Terry Gene Bollea, he is perhaps the biggest star in WWE's five-decade history."

Hulk Hogan's 1985 debut in WrestleMania saw him meet almost every challenger possible in the years that followed.

Notably, some of the people he faced off against included Vince McMahon, The Rock, and Andre the Giant. Altogether, on WWE, he took home six championship titles, becoming a Hall of Famer in 2005. But casting Chris Hemsworth as a young Hogan is not a bad choice really.

Hulk Hogan works alongside Chris Hemsworth

Acting as a consultant and executive producer should be fairly easy for Hogan as he works alongside Chris Hemsworth.

Actually, he spent a great deal of his life in front of television cameras. Also, he acted in "Rocky III". Other movies like "Mr Nanny", "No Holds Barred" and "Suburban Commando" starred Hogan. Additionally, other TV shows saw him roll across the screen in "Hogan Knows Best", "Thunder in Paradise", and "China, IL". Of course, he also featured in a number of commercials over the years.

As for Chris Hemsworth, he has long been in Hogan's sights to act his role. As Daily Mail pointed out, it was way back in 2013 that Hogan discussed Hemsworth playing him in a biopic.

According to the Toronto Cape Breton Post, Hogan said, "We need a serious, serious actor that knows what he’s doing...you know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action movie 'Thor"'.
