"One-Punch Man" is one of the latest generation titles that has hit the hearts of fans. The anime and manga series about Earth’s strongest hero who can defeat his enemies with just one punch is finally ready to return with a second season of the anime — more than three years after its first debut. The manga proceeds more or less regularly, between chapters of hundreds of pages. The anime ended in 2015 but the trailer for the upcoming season is now released.

New season

The 12 episodes of the first season of "One-Punch Man" are about to be followed by the second season that will debut this year, in April. Pending the arrival of the first episode, the official website has released new information on the cast and other news.

A new cast member is Masaya Matsukaze who will play Suiryu, whose character design you can see on their website. The four-time Super Fight tournament champion will also appear in the anime.

The opening song will be "Seijaku no Apostle" (The peaceful apostle), sung by the JAM Project, returning to the series after the opening of "The Hero." The CD containing the song, plus another secret that the group has decided not to announce yet, will be on sale from April 24 in two editions, with a cover for the anime and an original cover. In the meantime, you can take a look at the presentation images already released by the "One-Punch Man" staff.

In these new episodes, fans will see a new villain at the centre of the scene.

Garou is a young boy determined more than ever to defeat the protagonist, Saitama by any means available. The series will see a change at the technical level as it will no longer be MADHOUSE studio who pulls the strings of the project, but rather the animation studio JC Staff, who wanted to give the whole story a slightly darker tone than in the past.

The cast

Matsukaze joins the previously confirmed Makoto Furukawa as Saitama. Others cast include:

  • Kaito Ishikawa as Genos,
  • Hikaru Midorikawa as Garou,
  • Yuki Kaji as Speed-o'-Sound Sonic,
  • Aoi Yuki as Terrible Tornado,
  • Kazuhiro Yamaji as Silverfang,
  • Kenjiro Tsuda as Atomic Samurai,
  • Minami Takayama as Child Emperor,
  • Tessyo Genda as Metal Knight,
  • and Yuichi Nakamura as Mumen Rider, reports ComicBook.
