"Dragon Ball Super: Broly" is turning out to be an absolute blockbuster. The film was initially released in Japan in December 2018. The anime movie was presented at the end of March 2018 when the anime ended with the Power Tournament. Since then a worldwide campaign has been generated by the return of Broly and Gogeta to the new anime sagas.

As many of the fans already know, the film is based on the history of Saiyans. The film is written by Akira Toriyama. "Broly" has mostly received the positive reviews from the fans and the pundits. Fans can expect a lot of action in the movie as well as a few new characters.

The animated movie in IMAX

The synopsis of the film reads, "Goku and Vegeta face their deadliest challenge yet when they experience the power and might of an unknown Saiyan named Broly.

With most Saiyans thought to be extinct following the destruction of Planet Vegeta, what’s this one doing on Earth?" As for the movie's release in IMAX, the "Broly" is all set to debut in the US cinemas. According to ComicBook, Funimation has already confirmed that the movie will get a limited IMAX run for its US theatrical screenings. The film will only have the one day of IMAX screenings before it continues its run on normal screens. The one-day event marks the first time an anime feature has screened in IMAX within the US.

As said, Dragon Ball Super: Broly will screen in IMAX for one night only, but the film will have extended showings throughout the month, reports ComicBook.

Nomination for awards

More reasons to celebrate the international premiere of "Dragon Ball Super: Broly." The Association of Awards of the Academy of Japan announced the nominees for the category "Animation of the Year." The recent film by Akira Toriyama stands out against other Japanese productions.

It will compete against the films Penguin Highway, Mirai, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer and Okko's Inn. All these films were considered for the Association of Awards of the Academy of Japan because they were released from December 26, 2017, to the 15 of the same month of 2018.
