The third season of arguably the best teen drama series right now is again eclipsing its most recent success. When CW network announced the release date of season 3, the Twitter world went crazy. Also, KJ Apa who plays the role of Archie Andrews looks jacked with his new shirtless photo uploaded on Instagram.

It looks like there is no stopping the guys from Riverdale on their march towards greatness. Their chemistry on and off the camera shows how these multiple personalities gel to reach their common goal. It is no secret that the bond they have also developed a relationship in real life, like Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones) and Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper).

Season 3 not only promises a more dramatic scene, but it would be more edgier as part of the cast have stated.

KJ Apa flex his muscles

The recent body transformation of KJ Apa made the buzz not only because it looks good, but because of the implication it has on season 3. Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) who has been a thorn to Archie and his friends not only destroyed Archie’s morale but his credibility as well. For those who haven’t seen the past few episodes, the multi-billionaire framed up Archie. The fake evidence that was handed to the police was the very reason why Archie was arrested. Cassidy Book’s death is linked to him, and that angle will continue until the end of season 3.

Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa dropped a bombshell when he posted the pic of KJ Apa with a caption “Look who’s back in red and fighting shape for Season 3 of #Riverdale”.

As we all know, Archie’s character is mild-mannered and doesn’t want to harm anybody. However, there is an exemption, due to Hiram Lodge pushing him to his limits, we might see a different side of Archie Andrews. The show has already provided a plot to settle the conflict between the two, but it’s still not clear if Archie will eventually kill Hiram.

Premiere date and nominations

For those fans who are outside the US territory, the premiere date might be a lot different than expected. As mentioned, Season 3 is set for October 11 in the US while UK fans will be able to see it the day after on Netflix UK.

Also, as expected, ‘Riverdale’ is again nominated for four major awards at this year's Teen Choice Award.

The show is nominated for “Best Choice Drama TV Show” while KJ Apa and Cole Sprouse are both nominated for “Choice Drama TV Actor.” Rounding up the list is Camila Mendes, and Lili Reinhart is fighting for the “Choice Drama TV Actress” award.
