3.What's the history of video games?

That is a tough one. Video games have a long and varied history. It is thought that the first video game was created by Physicist William Higinbotham and that it was a simple tennis game in the same vein as the 1970s classic "Pong." From there it wasn't until the 1970s that video games start to see their popularity and number increase. It was thanks to the arcades that games like "Tank" and "Pong" could thrive. After that, it wasn't long before we saw other classic games like "Space Invaders" and "Breakout" became common arcade hits.

The golden age of arcade video games is considered to be between 1978-1982. During this time other classics were released with games like "Pac Man," "Donkey Kong," and "Galaga" cementing their way into the hearts of gamers. Throughout the late 70s and early 80s, the second generation of home consoles were released with arcade titles being ported across to these systems.

The third generation onwards is where people started to really take notice of video games. This saw the release of the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. However, it is the NES that won people's hearts. Games from the NES are still played today and formed the foundation for many of Nintendo's franchises with games like "The Legend of Zelda," "Metroid," and "Mario Bros." From this point, you can start to see the world of gaming we know today take shape.
