When travelling around, endless plane flights or long, boring bus journeys can be trying. However, entrepreneurs are coming up with original ideas to get you from A to B, including an overnight bus hotel, taking you from Los Angeles to San Francisco, taking eight hours to get there. Wired reported on the bus service, saying passengers would feel tight turns and hard braking, but would otherwise have a smooth ride.

If visiting Spain, zoom between the major tourist cities in an AVE high-speed train. It takes less than three hours to get from Madrid to Barcelona and is far more comfortable than flying and the attendant airport delays.

As suggested by SA Venues, head to South Africa and have sheer fun travelling around in a three-wheeled Tuk-Tuk, inspired from similar vehicles in India and Thailand. Alternatively, head to Durban and enjoy a ride in a rickshaw - a two-wheeled and colourful passenger cart.

Overnight bus hotel from Los Angeles to San Francisco

Cabin terms itself a “moving hotel,” and offers a lounge area for socialising and early morning coffee on the first level. Upstairs are sleeping pods or bunk beds, allowing passengers to stretch out and snooze in comfort. There is a fast Wi-Fi service available to those who can’t sleep and prefer to watch a movie or browse social media on their laptop. The bus service swears the beds are “bump-cancelling,” but the lady in the video did have trouble taking out her contacts.
