Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have revealed new Pokemon in a new clip.
Wimpod is a bug water Pocket Pokemon. Only found in Alola at this point, Wimpod’s ability is called wimp out, which allows it to flee from battle. This suggests that the Pokemon’s ability is set to challenge trainers, as it would be harder to catch in full HP. Wimpod is not the first bug-water monster in the Pokedex, as Hoenn has already introduced fans Surskit. Whether Wimpod is set to have an evolution is still unknown.
Bounsweet follows Rowlet as the next grass type creature in Alola’s Pokedex. With its resemblance to other grass type Pokemon from other game regions like Johto’s Bellossom, Hoenn’s Roselia, and Unova’s Petilil and Liligant, among others, it is assumed that Bounsweet has a vast number of grass-type moves like Magical Leaf. The lei monster has two abilities. The first one is Leaf Guard, which prevents it from being afflicted by non-volatile status conditions, Yawn, Flame Orb, and Toxic Orb, during harsh sunlight. The other ability is Oblivious, keeps one immune from attacks like Taunt, Captivate, and Infatuation..
Comfey is another inclusion for “Pokemon Sun” and “Pokemon Moon.” While it resembles a lei, a necklace made out of a garland of Hawaiian flowers, Comfey does not get a grass typing. Instead, it is a fairy type, with the ability Flower Veil and a new ability, Triage. Flower veil prevents stats reduction of an ally’s grass-type while more details on Triage are yet to be revealed. In the Hawaiian culture, the white and purple flowers signify welcoming visitors while orange and red flowers represent love, according to Hawaii Discount Blog. Whether the colors represent something in-game is unknown.
By looking only on its appearance, Mudsdale can be assumed as a fire-type monster; however, Nintendo and Pokemon gave it a ground typing. Highly energetic, Mudsdale is the fifth horse-based Pokemon specie in the “Pokemon” game following Johto’s fire-types Ponyta and Rapidash and Unova’s lightning-types Blitzle and Zebstrika. Whether Mudsdale has an evolution is unknown at this point, but it has two possible abilities - Own Tempo and a new ability, Stamina. Own Tempo has been used by players in the video games, since it prevents a monster to become confused; thus, moves like confuse ray and swagger will not affect a Mudsdale with this ability. On the other hand, Stamina is assumed as a Defense stat booster for Mudsdale, making it physically defensive in-game. It also has an unnamed attack, which has a horse shoe animation; based on its animation, it is a physical type move..
In early July, Mimikyu has already been revealed as Alola’s ghost-fairy monster. Based on its Pokedex entry, Mimikyu loves darkness and hates light, a reason why it is covered with a cloth. While people warned that seeing its true appearance will leave them afflicted by bad energy like a curse, it is also speculated that Mimiyu has the ability to copy various Pokemon, such as Pikachu. Its ability is Disguise, which presumably prevents damage done to it by the opposing Pokemon.
Previously named Kituruguma, it is revealed that the normal-fighting type bear Pokemon’s English name is Bewear. The Pokemon is said to be highly dangerous, as it can break anything in half. While Bewear loves hugging its trainer, the Alola has signs that warn its people and prevent them from being hurt.
Before the end of its 20th anniversary, fans and gamers are set to choose among Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio when “Pokemon Sun” and “Pokemon Moon” comes out on Nov. 18..
