Proving to be Chelsea's, and formally Leicester City's, beating heart in their respective engine rooms since his arrival on English shores, N'Golo Kante - according to a report published by The Mirror - is supposedly top of Paris Saint-Germain's summer 2018 transfer wish-list, with the Ligue 1 giants keen on luring the Parisian metronome back to his hometown by tabling an eye-watering £90m offer. After helping the Blues lift the Premier League title last term, the 26-year-old has been shortlisted as a contender for the coveted Ballon d'Or accolade, pinning his name amongst the game's most highly regarded professionals.

Commander

In the bid to return to the top of the tree in France after failing to successfully oppose AS Monaco's successful Ligue 1-clinching campaign last year, PSG see Kante as the man to shore up their midfield regiment. Kante's rugged, tenacious approach to his duties is one of the many defining reasons why he is regarded as among the world's most prolific players. Subsequently, 'Les Rouge-et-Bleu' are allegedly interested in utilising his qualities for their own gains once the transfer window re-emerges next summer.

As it's known, PSG are no cheapskates when it comes to spending, with their escapades during this summer's transfer period exceeding £300m after landing the likes of Neymar from FC Barcelona and Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco. Chelsea will be aware of their cash-flashing tendencies, so if Kante is indeed to pack his bags for his formative stomping ground, the current Premier League holders will want to squeeze every last penny out of PSG's seemingly bottomless purse.

Polished gem

In the summer of 2015, Leicester City secured Kante's signature from French outfit Caen for a minuscule £5.6m, a figure which never truly justified the actual worth of the tireless midfielder. Kante, during the 2015-16 campaign, was a vital cog in the Foxes' historic title-winning outfit, who stunned the footballing world by pipping England's biggest clubs to the Premier League title, a ground-breaking feat which ultimately unearthed his natural talents for all to admire.

With his ability being lauded by many potential suitors, Kante made the jump to south-west London to ply his trade at Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £32m, and since his arrival at his current employers, the diminutive Frenchman has gone from strength to strength, helping Chelsea clinch the Premier League last season, his second consecutive triumph at different clubs.

Injured

Witnessing Kante perform once more domestically has been put on hold, however. Limping out of France's 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against Bulgaria with a hamstring problem last Saturday evening, it's said that Kante could be sidelined for up to 3 weeks, meaning he may indeed be absent for Chelsea's Champions League trip to Italy, when they encounter AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on October 31.
