'Star Wars' fans across the world have been highly anticipating this year’s Star Wars Celebration which will be held between April 13th and April 17th in Orlando, Florida. This is the convention where fans of this franchise celebrate everything 'Star Wars' whether it is the films, the books, the animated shows, the comics and/or the video games.

Moreover, it is also the place where we get exciting announcements which tell us what we can see in the future of this franchise. There is a lot of speculation about what we will see, so let’s discuss the possibilities of what could happen at Star Wars Celebration.

An Appearance from George Lucas?

Celebration starts on Thursday 13th April and the first panel will be the ’40 Years of Star Wars’ panel. This will be a tribute to the 40th Anniversary of 'Star Wars' and to Carrie Fisher too after her tragic passing last year. It will be hosted by Warwick Davis who has a long history with the franchise and Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, will be there along with Mark Hamill, Dave Filoni, Billy Dee Williams, Hayden Christiansen and many others.

For such a momentous and important panel, there are bound to be a few surprises and there is a lot of speculation that George Lucas could make a surprise appearance as well as Harrison Ford. Without George Lucas, there would be no 'Star Wars' so it makes sense that he would be there at the panel which, essentially, honours his legacy.

A Trailer for 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'

The main event on Friday will be the panel for 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. The eagerly anticipated sequel to 'The Force Awakens' is scheduled for release in December 2017 and the general public have not seen any footage of the film.

Just as we saw in 2015 for 'The Force Awakens' panel at Celebration, it is an absolute guarantee that Friday’s panel is where we will see our first glimpse of 'The Last Jedi' in the form of either a teaser or a full trailer. Whatever it ends up being and whatever we see, it will break the Internet.

A Trailer for Season 4 of 'Star Wars Rebels'

The third season of 'Star Wars Rebels' was recently concluded which means that Celebration is the perfect place to see our first glimpse at the fourth and potentially last season of this animated show.

What makes this so exciting is that we could potentially get an inclination about whether Ahsoka Tano survived her clash with Darth Vader in the Season 2 finale. Additionally, the timeline in Rebels is very close to 'Rogue One' and 'A New Hope' which means that there is a lot of potential for more connections to the films to be established.

Future Projects

A trademark of this convention are teases and reveals about the direction that the franchise is taking.

The fans are expecting developments whether it's the announcement of a new film or a new TV show (animated or live-action).

Additionally, it is very likely that we will see announcements regarding video games such as Battlefront II as well as Visceral’s untitled video game. There is bound to be new books and comics announced too. There is a lot to anticipate and it is exciting times for the franchise.
