FOX loves continuing its franchises. 2016 was the "X Files" year, in 2017 we will welcome back "Prison Break" and "#24." But 24's story is more complicated than the "X-Files'" and "Prison Break's" ones. The Jack Bauer's show is not anew to unexpected returns. The show was one of the strongest performers on FOX and the network decided to air it again during the 2014 summer, after eight seasons. Kiefer Sutherland reprised his iconic role and the fans enjoyed the new twelve episodes of "24: Live Another Day." This time is different: Jack will not come back.

'24: Legacy' is a reboot

When the news broke, fans were really surprised by the unexpected new take on the TV #Series. FOX's midseason schedule will include 24: Legacy, a new story that will not include Jack Bauer. Kiefer Sutherland is starring in another Fall's TV show: Designated Survivor. As a consequence of that, he won't likely have time to commit to these adrenalic stories and so they went for a spin-off.

'24: Legacy' story

"Legacy" will tell the story of Eric Carter, who is a war hero,  played by Corey Hawkins. Miranda Otto plays Rebecca Ingram, the former head of the now revived Washington D.C. Counter Terrorist Unit. The cast includes Jimmy Smits, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky and Anna Diop. The TV Series will begin with Eric Carter's return to America after his war-experience. All his troubles will follow him back  and these will force him to ask CTU to save his life, and potentially stopping the largest terrorist attacks on American soil. The events will take place three years after "24: Live Another Day."

Trailer and release date

"24: Legacy" preview is an adrenalic look at this new secret agent's story that will have to grab the viewers attention without the carismatic presence of the beloved iconic protagonist. Have a look at the trailer:

It will air in February: the series is scheduled to premiere on February the 5th in 2017 and it will follow the Superbowl LI. Then after the first episode, it will later move to its regular time slot of Mondays at 8:00. Fox is giving the best lead-in ever to this spin-off. Don't miss my follow up article with a recap of grades and results of the new TV shows. #Television
