For years it didn't seem like it was going to happen but at last, it is: we will have a Wonder Woman movie. It took long enough I hear most of you say but it's happening so get ready as I tell you everything you need to know about it.

The release date

Warner Bros has given the US release date for the movie for June 23rd, 2017, however, a UK release date is unconfirmed. Don't get discouraged that the UK release date is unknown because it will more than definitely arrive near or around the US release date and don't get discouraged also that the movie is just under a year away. Time will fly by, just like Wonder Woman does! It's also worth mentioning that the first Justice League movie will be out in 2017 as well, so we'll have even more Wonder Woman viewing time!

The plot

This is the official synopsis:

"Wonder Woman hits the movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers... and her true destiny"

Doesn't that sound great?! We all know that the women on the island known as Themyscira didn't like the idea of mixing and living with men very much, however Diana was always against that, like the awesome leader and rebel she is!

The cast and crew

I've already mentioned that the incredible yet an unknown actress Gal Gadot is returning to play Diana. It was always a risky move casting an unknown in this popular role but after her brilliant performance in Batman Vs Superman, where lets face it she saves the #Film and is the most interesting and likable character, no one needs to worry about the choice for Wonder Woman. As for the rest of the cast, well we have Star Trek's Chris Pine as the pilot and sometimes the love interest of Diana, known as Steve Trevor, along with Gladiator actress Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta aka Diana's mother. We also have Robin Wright from House of Cards playing general Antiope and Lisa Loven Kongsli as the second in command Melanippe. Others who will feature in the movie include Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. For those who are hoping for a Lynda Carter cameo, nothing has been confirmed about that and I suspect we probably will not know about it until the movie hits the cinemas next year. So keep hoping basically. Patty Jenkins, who directed Monsters and also left Marvel's Thor: The Dark World over 'creative differences' is all set to direct Wonder Woman. The script for the movie was written by Geoff Johns and Allen Heinberg- who have worked on TV shows such as Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy and Sex and the City. Exciting!

The movie poster.

While there currently isn't an official trailer for the movie Gal Gadot treated fans by revealing the poster for the film on her Twitter. It looks like wonder woman will be returning to her traditional colours; red, gold and blue, that she didn't wear in Batman Vs Superman.

So there you have it, everything you need to know about the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. #Television #Blasting News UK
