US President Donald Trump has said that the FBI probe investigation led by Robert Mueller into the alleged links between his Presidential campaign and the Russian government is making America “look very bad.” But one could argue, if they wanted to play Devil’s advocate, that if Trump didn’t want the ties between his campaign and the Kremlin investigated, then there shouldn’t have been any ties in the first place (allegedly).

In an impromptu interview with The New York Times, Trump did not make any calls for the investigation to be called off, but he did make sure to say that the probe has found “no collusion” between the campaign and Russia yet.

Throughout the whole 30-minute interview, he said the words “no collusion” sixteen times. Sixteen times. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

America in ‘a very bad position,’ says Trump

Trump said that the Mueller probe makes America “look very bad” and that it “puts the country in a very bad position.” When asked about whether or not he would have the Department of Justice reopen the Hillary Clinton DNC email case, he boasted, “I have absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department.” Exactly what he will do with that right remained unclear.
