Anti-fascist activists, dubbed “Antifa,” have been rapidly on the rise since Donald Trump was elected to be the President of the United States, because he’s seen as a fascist leader. However, the controversial thing about Antifa is that they use violence to fight against authoritarian leadership, and they deem the use of force necessary.

Antifa organisation head provides ‘justification’

The “justification” for using violence against fascism was provided by Mike Isaacson, a co-founder of the Antifa organisation Smash Racism DC in Washington, who says that they need to use violence because violence is the centre of the “Nazi ideology at its very core.” He says that it is “founded" on using violence to get what you want politically, you have to fight fire with fire.

Isaacson is very staunch on his belief in favour of violence as a tool in fighting white supremacy and fascism. He won’t waver on it and he continually defends his organisation’s use of violence because his key belief is that people should not “feel safe organising as Nazis in public.” He does not believe that people who have the intention of getting together and rallying people "for the sake of creating a state-sponsored genocide” are a group that "we should protect,” and that’s what Antifa is all about.
