This Lauryn Hill and Nas Tour is the second one together

Two of music's great influencers are going to give fans a live treat by going out on tour this year. Nas and Lauryn Hill announced a joint tour on Tuesday slated for this fall. The tour is scheduled to begin September 7th in Chicago, travel to 15 various venues before wrapping up in Vancouver October 11th, for a total of 17 locations.

The two headliners will have two people to choose from as their opening acts, which will give them some exposure to their existing fans and earn them some of their own.

The scheduled opening acts will be Roots reggae singer Chronixx who will serve as the opener for 11 shows, and comedian Hannibal Buress who will positively engage the crowd by giving them a thing or two to laugh to at during the other six gigs. This sure has an aura of being a great event as the headliners and the opening acts are all talented people and each has great merit on their own.

A little history on the Nas and Lauryn

The first time that Nas and Lauryn ever did something together musically was when the two famously collaborated on the hit "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)" in 1996. Seeing as that was truly a hit and I think a song that surpasses time in a way, it is only natural that later on in their careers they also embarked on a tour together in 2012, playing 10 dates after Nas released his "Life Is Good" album.

"This is history," the rapper said about the joint tour in a statement at the time. "Better late than never. Life is good!" Nas has not released a new album since that year, although he has done songs like the song with Dj. Khaled "Nas Album Done" Major Keys in 2016

He's been prolific in the last 15 years compared to Hill, who has not put out an LP since her MTV Unplugged recording in 2002.

She does though have a recent song which came out in 2015 called "Feeling Good". Most recently, Nas contributed raps to Baz Luhrmann's hip-hop origin story, "The Get Down".

He celebrated the South Orange singer's 42nd birthday on May 26 with an Instagram post in which he was pictured standing next to Hill, cutting a birthday cake.

In 2012, Hill performed with Nas at Rock the Bells in Holmdel and Summer Jam in East Rutherford.
