Beyonce has announced that she is pregnant with twins. Taking to her Instagram account to share the news, the 35-year-old singer posted a picture of herself in a floral setting, baring her baby bump. Dressed in just her underwear and a green veil, the singer looked serene in her natural scenery.
This is the second pregnancy for the singer who already has one child with her husband Jay Z. Captioning the announcement on her Instagram, Beyonce wrote, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.
– The Carters.”
Sharing the news
The Formation singer is not a stranger to announcing her pregnancies in public ways. She told the world that she was carrying her first child Blue Ivy by showing off her bump at the end of a high-energy performance of her song Love On Top, at the MTV Video Music Awards show in 2011. It was also revealed that she was hiding her pregnancy in a number of music videos for her album 4, which was also released in 2011.
Beyonce’s mum Tina Knowles also expressed her joy at having two more grandchildren. Following in her daughter’s footsteps, Tina reposted the picture to her Instagram account with the caption: “WOWI (sic) don’t have to keep the secret anymore. I am soooo happy.
God is go good. Twin blessings.”
It is not yet known how far along the Lemonade artist is in her pregnancy, but judging by the size of her bump, she has been keeping the secret for a while. Beyonce revealed she was carrying Blue Ivy when she was a few months along, so it seems she has done the same with her second pregnancy.
Her pregnancies
The singer documented her first pregnancy in her HBO released documentary “Life Is But A Dream”, which was filmed, directed and produced by Beyonce herself. The autobiographical film gave fans a rare insight into her usually private life and followed her in her personal and professional life.
In the documentary, Beyonce revealed that she had previously suffered a miscarriage and gave viewers the chance to see footage of her family life.
Beyonce is due to perform at this year's Coachella festival. It is unclear how her pregnancy will affect this but considering the singer's work ethic, it won't slow her down.
