Disney is obsessed with live-action adaptations of their cult movies. After "Maleficent" and "The Jungle Book", 2017 will be the year of Emma Watson's Belle. In 2015,Disney Studios ordered a movie based on the Academy Awards 1991 animated movie. It's not the only new one: "Mulan", "Aladdin", "Snow White and the seven dwarfs" and "Lion King" will be adapted as a live-action picture.

Emma Watson and Dan Stevens star

There was a lot of buzz on who was going to play themain roles inthis cult story. In the end Harry Potter's Emma Watson obtained the role of the protagonist.

She will play Belle, while Dan Stevens will star as the beast. The cast includes Luke Evans as Gaston, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Bricks, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Ian McKellen, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and many more. It's an interesting choice considering the difficulty of rendering the perfect atmosphere of the original movie. For now, it has been a successful move: Disney has attracted a huge amount of attention, thanks to the popularity of the main stars.

First official photos

A first look and a series of photos have been released. While Emma looks stunning, Dan Stevens as the beast seems a bit odd, but we' ll have to wait and see how the actual movie will look like.
